Double the line-pull of your winch line, or use the snatch block (a.k.a. swing block) with a D-shackle and tree strap around a tree to handle off-angle pulls. With a snatch block, you can undertake a forward recovery of a stuck vehicle in front of you by using a snatch block from an anchor point up the trail.

AmSteel Blue is the latest development of HMPE fiber in a twelve-strand braided rope utilizing Parallay design with proprietary blue urethane coating. Synthetic winch rope was introduced to the off-road vehicle markets in the 1990’s. It has rapidly become a must-have accessory for hard-core rockcrawlers and off-road enthusiasts.

Note: As with cable, we recommend keeping a minimum of 8 wraps of synthetic line on the winch drum at all times.

H1 Amsteel Blue Winch Rope

U.S. Made Amsteel Blue synthetic fiber rope has a higher breaking strength than that of steel cable of the same diameter, but weighs less than 1/6. It won't get all wound-up like cable when unspooled. It can't develop sharp frays, and it doesn't conduct electricity or heat (won't freeze your hands in winter). It won't rust, doesn't kink, doesn't recoil, doesn't stretch, or doesn't store energy. Need we say more!

Note: We strongly recommend upgrading to a billet aluminum Hawse fairlead to prevent damage from a scuffed roller fairlead. See fairleads below

We recommend not to use a roller fairlead with synthetic winch rope. Why? For many reasons:

- Winch rope is designed to flatten out under load. It could get stuck in the corners of a roller fairlead.
- A steel roller (even a new one) gets weatherized quickly and is not good for the rope.
- Synthetic winch rope is actually too smooth to roll the roller.
- An old roller fairlead is not good for the rope, especially if scuffed.
- A roller fairlead is much heavier.
- A roller fairlead sticks out further, reducing approach angle.
- Bolts, or spindles with C-clips on a roller might cause a winch rope to snag. Our aluminum fairlead has nothing in front for the rope to catch on.

Don't get stuck too far from a good anchor point! Our winch rope extension adds fifty feet to your winch line, and brings you nearer to that well-placed tree.
